Fuddy Duddy and Murray Codman

Fuddy Duddy and Murray Codman (Lyon Museum) 9351After our visit to the Aquarium of the Pacific and a quick dash to see the RMS Queen Mary, the family zipped over to the Lyon Air Museum at the Orange County John Wayne Airport. This is the home of the wonderfully restored B-17G that proudly wears the colorful markings of the 447th BG’s Fuddy Duddy. Better yet, we invited 447th BG veteran Murray Codman to meet us there and had a nice time sharing photos and swapping stories during our short visit. The Lyon Museum has quite a collection of pristine vintage automobiles and other vehicles and some of the finest vintage warbirds you’ll find anywhere. We did not have much time to explore the incredible collection, but focused mainly on the B-17 and Murray while we were there. Hopefully some of the photos I donated to the museum will be beneficial for their displays, giving a bit of the flavor of life at Rattlesden to complement their 447th BG Fortress exhibit. I’ll have to spend more time their on our next visit to fully appreciate their breathtaking collection.
